6 Dangerous Dish Soaps That Are Full Of Cancer-Causing Chemicals!

Nowadays, there are so many different dish soaps on the market which are supposed to clean our dishes and kill bacteria. However, most of them contain harmful chemicals which can cause damage to our  health.

The reason for this is because most the commercial dish soaps have in their content toxic fragrances, sulfuric acid, formaldehyde, silicate salts, and ammonium sulfate.

Here below is a list of six dish soaps you should never use:

  • Legacy of Clean
  • Palmolive
  • Alax
  • Meyers
  • Dawn
  • Cucina

All these soaps contain the above mentioned toxins. Nevertheless, most of them are classified as Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS), yet long-term exposure to these toxins can lead to the development of serious health issues.

Ammonium sulfate

This substance is present in Palmolive and Ajax, and it is a known skin irritant. According to scientists the influence of this chemical is related to the development of respiratory issues and cancer.

Formaldehyde

This toxin is a common ingredient of Ajax, Palmolive, and Dawn. Likewise, it is contained in a few other soaps and household cleaners. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) carried out a research where it was found that formaldehyde is dangerous, which can cause skin allergies, irritations, and cancer.

Formaldehyde can as well as cause asthma, respiratory issues, eye damage, skin burns, and general systemic organ defects.

Fragrances

Producers most commonly use pentasodium pentetate as a fragrance in dish soaps. It can cause skin irritations and as well as eyes irritation, therefore try to avoid its use.

Silicate salts

They are included in Palmolive, and other salts. Once inhaled or consumed can cause eye and skin irritations. However, FDA maintains that if they are added in low amount they are Generally Recognized as Safe.

Yet, the fact still remains that silicate salts cause allergies, respiratory issues, and organ system toxicity.

Sulfuric acid

This acid is present in Ajax and Palmolive. According to EWG sulfuric acid is dangerous for use as it is related to allergies, skin irritations, skin burns, eye damage, and dermatitis. Moreover, this chemical is carcinogen and asthmagen.

FDA recognizes it as GRAS, but we recommend you not to use it at all cost.

There are always healthier alternatives to the chemical ones and there are also available safer soaps.

We advise you the use of following ones:

  • Method
  • Ecover
  • Seventh Generation
  • Better Life
  • Puracy

There are also the homemade dish soaps. All you have to do is to choose natural ingredients, and prepare your own soap free of chemicals.
